Hayes: A seasoned intellectual property litigator with over 30 years of experience, Mr. Hayes has successfully tried and defended numerous patent and trademark suits in the United States and abroad. In April 2009, Mr. Hayes and his team at Hayes Bostock & Cronin won a $388 million verdict, the fifth largest such verdict in patent litigation history, against Microsoft for its infringement of a complex patent for software licensing encryption. In 2011, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirmed Microsoft's liability in a unanimous ruling. Mr. Hayes is proud to have served as a United States Marine, and holds a degree in mechanical engineering.
